Consecutive Interpreting

Consecutive interpreting is where the interpreter takes notes of each statement and at the end, or at an appropriate interval, accurately relays what is said in the required language.

Consecutive interpreting is ideal for press conferences, short conferences or events with limited budgets, given that no special equipment is required. It is also used for neighbourhood gatherings in multilingual communities.

Important

Bear in mind that consecutive interpreting increases the length of a meeting by at least double.
