Literary translation

Matiz’s translators bring their literary skills to each and every project so that the translations reflect the spirit of the original text. Novels, essays, poems, children’s literature, textbooks or news articles… We’re translators and we love to read! Tell us what you need.

Audiovisual translation: video, audio and subtitles

Do you need to translate audio and video? Matiz relies on its video and audio translation specialists for dubbing and subtitling, spotting (the timing of subtitles), subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (or intralinguistic), as well as for the translation of comics, graphic novels, comic strips and advertising material.

Legal translation

Legal translation is a specialization in the field of law, for example, contracts, rulings, and judicial requirements. This should not be confused with ‘sworn translation’ which is where a sworn translator swears by the accuracy and completion of their translation with their stamp and signature.

Sworn translation

Sworn translation is required by regional government bodies and some private entities for certain proceedings and can only be carried out by sworn translators. In Spain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for accrediting sworn translators or interpreters who may then stamp their translations and attest documents such as certificates, diplomas and notarial acts. In the eyes of the government, this provides a translation with the same legal validity of the original document. The translation can only be delivered in paper form, although the original can be sent by e-mail, fax, or delivered in person.

Matiz can take care of this process for you, saving you time in the selection, management, and cost of trial and error that may be incurred when trying to find a trustworthy provider. However, it may be the case that due to cost or extreme urgency, you might be interested in contacting directly with the translator closest to your residence or business premises. The list of translators authorized to carry out sworn Spanish translations (other countries have other systems) can be found on The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website, along with the translator’s telephone number and post and e-mail address.

If you want to leave it in our hands, you need to provide us with the document you want translated. You can send it by post, e-mail, fax, courier or in person. We will give you a fixed quote in advance. If you agree to the terms of the quote, return it duly signed along with the bank transfer receipt. You will receive the translation by courier at the address that you provide and within the time frame agreed at the quotation stage. The minimum time frame for delivery is 48 hours.
